Another environment concept i did a while back ( i keep finding them hidden in amongst my work) so i decided to post. its not much to see but i remember it being fun to do:)

p.s. part of the sky is indeed matte (photo) the rest is painted in PS

i like the lighting. at first glance the clouds and the darkness make it seem rather forbidding, but the light peeking though the clouds makes it seem as if the storm has just passed

I think it would have been prettier if you drew the whole tree yourself instead of merging your way to the top. It looks half done. The rest of the painting is also way too "painterly" for the realistic sky in my opinion. Other than that, great drawing :) I adore the touch of red.
