Music that inspires...

Tue Aug 15, 2006, 1:20 PM
Was just thinking the other night how important music is to me when it comes to creating art, i can barely work without it. So ive decided to compile a list of my favourite music tracks in the hope that some of you will be inspired by it also:)

In no particular order:

Strangers by Yoko Kanno - possibly one of my favourite songs ever, it has just about every single instrument on earth with in it, yet they all work perfectly together.

Wicked Game by Chris isaac - A really haunting song.

Cathedral by Thomas Newman - The song i listened to a great deal while painting "Her Silent Silhouette"

Achilles Heal by Toploader - Every time i hear this song im reminded of the day i started digital painting:)

Whisper of a thrill by Thomas Newman - Another beautiful song which invokes a lot emotion, basically anything by Thomas Newman is gold!

Glósóli by Sigur Ros - unique and beautiful with a very powerful ending...watch www.emichrysalis.co.uk/quickti…

Stability by Death cab for Cutie - A very long song at 12 minutes, but its time well spent.

Teardrop by Massive Attack - amazing song, lyrics and that piano!

All is full of love by Bjork - A classic.

Dayvan Cowboy by Boards of Canada - Just makes me feel like falling in slowmotion.

Space Lion by Yoko Kanno - is there any type of music this woman hasnt already mastered?!

Reincarnation by Kenji Kawai - The main title theme music to Ghost in the Shell... say no more.

Cyberbird by Yoko Kanno - A really powerful and uplifting song, makes you want to run to the ends of the earth.

Give it away by Zero7 - chilled like no other... :)

Well i think thats enough for now, hope people find some of these songs and are inspired by them as i still am:

right i thought it might be quite cool for me to start this little journal series, where i find new, almost unknown deviants and spotlight them and their work.

I also thought it would be interesting if we kept this a secret from the deviant, hes got only
3 messages on his page, so im sure he would be very suprised to find a flood of new comments and critiques etc on his work....... sooo

DO NOT TELL HIM THAT I SENT YOU!!!!!!!
